Getting ready

How do I look, is my tie on straight?

We are getting ready to welcome back to Blogville our furiends Finn and Charley.

They took a long blogging break last year and posted "gone fishing".   Mommy loves the card game "go fish". That must have been some long fishing game!

We want to thank Finn and Charley fur coming back to Blogville.  And we want to thank Sarge fur holding the "recruit a pal" campaign to get previous bloggers  and new bloggers to join our Blogville family.

Sarge, you had a major paw in getting Finn and Charley back! Thank u.

We hope everyone will stop by Finn and Charley's blog and Welcome them back home to blogville.

Sheltie Astronomy class

Mommys niece is learning about astronomy in science class.

Us Shelties demonstrated a concept about direct and indirect rays.

See Benji and I were sleeping as Mommy was trying to help her niece understand the concept.

Mommy said pretend the lamp is the sun.  Lassie is sleeping on the table and is leaning closer to the sun and getting stronger direct rays from the sun. Lassie is like Summertime in the northern hemisphere where it is hotter.

Benji was laying on the floor further from the lamp (sun).  Benji was demonstrating indirect rays from the sun in wintertime in the Northern hemisphere. Those rays are weaker and cover a larger area (mommy said to her niece, an easy way to remember this is that Benji is fatter than Lassie so the sun is covering a larger area.)

Mommys niece totally understood the concept now and answered 2 pages of homework easily based on our Sheltie demonstration.

Glad us Shelties could be of help.

Paw in the air, headache, and the FINGER

Furst we would like to thank our friend Sweet William fur the pawsome picture of me (Lassie) bouncing a Soccer ball.  Thank you Sweet William.

The Blogville Barkers Soccer Team won the soccer tournament earlier this week (or was it last week.)  Well in any case, we won and have been celebrating ever since.

Mommy has been slacking posting comments to blogs.  Shame on Mommy.  We read blogs and we admit we didn't comment on some of them because our Mommy got LAZY this week.  (We hope Santa Paws isn't seeing how bad Mommy is about not writing comments on posts. )

Then Mommy had the nerve to tell me this morning that she "had a headache" and couldn't help us write  a post earlier today!  I told her...you aren't allowed to get headaches on MY time.  If you insist on getting a headache you should do it during the workweek on company time at your job.   The weekends are Lassie, Benji, Mommy time and I won't allow the headaches to interfere with MY time!

Then, oh my goodness...

Grandma gave me the FINGER today!

Oh it was horrible!

It wasn't the middle finger --- it was the index finger (the one next to the thumb.)

(To us dogs, the 2nd finger is worse than the middle finger.. am I right or what...)

See we had the front door open, and only had the screen door locked, so we could get some fresh air in the house.

And the neighbor's kids were outside in the street.

So I was trying to be FRIENDLY and I started barking nonstop.

I was yapping saying...how are you.. yap... isn't it a nice day today....yap... yap...yap

Grandma told me to stop yapping.

And when I didn't stop yapping... she got up... closed the front door ... then she stuck her FINGER (index finger) up at me and started waving it in front of my face saying NO.

How insulting!

I was just doing my CIVIC DUTY trying to be nice to the neighbors having a friendly conversation.

I was so insulted I immediately went and crawled on Mommy's belly (since she was laying down from the "headache") and then I started licking Mommy's cheek.  Then I was giving my paw at Mommy.

Mommy comforted me and pet me and said How DARE Grandma stick her "Finger" up at you.

In a matter of 87 seconds I forgave Grandma and took a nap.

Have a great weekend,

Lassie and Benji
