Nasty Storm

We had a nasty storm last night. We are ok. We lost power, but it's back on now.  Thankfully no damage fur us.  A lot of neighbors had tree branches down. And power was out all over the place!  Mommy even saw Speed Limit signs on her way to work, where the metal poles were twisted around.

Let me explain...

It was a super hot day yesterday -- like 97 or so.

We ate dinner (sloppy joes), then all of the sudden we turn on the news after dinner - and the news people were all saying --  take cover, a tornado warning is in effect.

And then the power went out just like that!  

And the storm arrived!

Nasty winds, Lightning and Thunder galore!


Mommy knew where flashlights were, so she searched in the dark and got them -- however -- you know the batteries don't work when you need it -- in both of the flashlights she found.   GRRR!

So, Mommy knew she bought a brand new pack of batteries.... and of course the one time you need to open a pack of new batteries in a jiffy -- the packaging is made of  some sort of super tectonic, ultra sticky, permanent, gorilla glue -- that by the time Mommy got the package open -- batteries went spilling out all over the kitchen table.

Mommy managed to find four of the batteries on the table in the dark, and managed to put the batteries into the flashlight the correct way!  Kudos to Mommy!

So, with one flashlight working -- we were now prepared.


Us dogs were so scared of the storm.


But Benji is a trooper, and eventhough he was scared, he managed to smile for the picture that Mommy took of him hiding in the bathroom in the dark.  (We lightened this picture so you can see Benji.)

At sunset, as the storm was finishing, the sky turned an orange color.   This picture doesn't do it justice.   It was a pretty site at the end of a nasty storm.  Mommy said, when you were in the house, all of the windows glowed an orange color.  So, that's why Mommy tried to take a picture of the sky.  I guess she should have taken a picture of the window glowing instead.   oh well.

Glad that storm is over!

P.S.  The weather people are trying to figure out if a tornado hit the Deptford, NJ area.  That city is north of us. Scary.

The alien did it

When Mommy and Grandma came home they blamed us doggies fur snooping thru the trash can.   We all know the alien did it!   Of course the alien disappeared right before the humans walked thru the door.

Scribbles fur Scribbles

Mommy learned a little about zentangle at calligraphy class at the library.

Mommy scribbled this while waiting fur Smurfette the cars oil change today.

Book and a tiny tripod

We won a book called Book of Barkley from the Recruit a pal event!  It looks pawsome and is pawtographed!  Thank u so much fur the book!  

In other news, Mommy bought a tiny cell phone tripod. She thought maybe she could use it to record a video.  So she set up the cell phone and tripod on the floor and took two unflattering pictures of our feet and other places the sun dont shine.  Note to self, next time Mommy sets up the tripod, dont go near it!

Why is it when us dogs got some impawtant date marked on our calendar... Mommy has to go and schedule an appointment fur herself and mess up MY blog time.

Last week was the big Welcome Dance in Blogville.

Mommy had to go and schedule that test where they stick the camera beast down her throat and the doctor takes pictures. Endoscopy.

Mommy is ok. Dont worry about her. She had some discomfort after the test fur a few days.  She is fine now. 

It just took her a while to catch up in blogging.

We won a book from Murphy and Stanley's blog fur helping at the recruit a pal event.

Benji was sniffing the book like crazy.  I think he wanted some Spagetti since we are Shetland Sheepdogs and The name of the book is Spagetti for Sheepdogs.

We didn't make any of the dishes yet, butt we love the instructions where it says take a quick nap and if u smell it burning, its done.  Lol.   Mommy is queen at burning meatballs, so she had such a laugh reading that in the book.

When mommy was in high school she used to practice playing piano while she was cooking.  So, she learned the fine art of burning foods a loooong time ago.
