Easter Egg Hunt - 87 days late

Our blog friends Frankie and Ernie held a Blogville Treat Hunt on Easter where pets and their mini's could pawticipate in finding their Easter Treats and Toys from the Easter Bunny.  

 

Easter was like 87 days (7 days) ago at this point. Butt we decided to post pictures anyway.  Do you know we still haven't caught up in reading all our blog friends posts about Easter.   We promise to get caught up ASAP.  Sorry about that.

 

 

Mini Benji (left) and Mini Lassie posing with Ukrainian Easter Eggs called "Pysanky".  Mommy and Grandma got these as gifts this Easter from the church choir.  Mommy got the one that I am posing with.  She was going all Squee in a high pitched voice in church.  (Kinda not appropriate church behavior, butt she was so eggcited to get an egg with the Easter Bunny's picture on it.)

Now this blurry picture is from the real Lassie and Benji's Egg Hunt.   The picture is supposed to be a treat in a plastic egg, butt it is super blurry because we were barking at Mommy as soon as we saw the treat in the egg.

Benji kinda stole the treat out of my blue egg, then he ate his treat in the yellow egg.  Butt, that was ok, because the Easter Bunny left an extra treat on the side fur me.  Guess the Easter Bunny knew in advance that Benji was gonna eat both of the treats.

Post-Easter Post

We are sorry, we are super late in reading everyone's Easter Posts.

We even sent our Mommy to the dog-house because we were upset that we aren't caught up in reading everyone's posts yet!  We don't know -- did Ranger ever find the Easter Bunny?  Did any friends or minis do an egg hunt along with Frankie and Ernie?   Did the Easter Bunny bring everyone treats?

We are so in the dark -- we still have to catch up on so many posts from Easter!

Easter is a really busy holiday for Mommy.  There are a lot of church services fur Mommy to go to, and a lot of cooking and baking and cleaning to do! 

Here are a few pictures.

Remember we told you that Mommy helped out the Easter Bunny's peeps in stuffing eggs for the kids at church fur the egg hunt.  Mommy was on taping duty!  Mommy put a piece of tape around the egg to keep the eggs closed so no candy fell out all over the church grounds fur the kids.  There was a total of 3 buckets, butt Mommy only taped eggs fur this one bucket. 

Mommy and her niece carved the traditional butter lambs fur the family's Easter Basket that the blessed.  We wrote a post last year about how they bless traditional foods like bread, butter, eggs, cheese, horseradish, kielbasa, honey, and salt on the day before Easter. Then on Easter, they eat the traditional foods.

This was a cheating egg that Mommy made.  She just used the wax crayon that was in her niece and nephew's Easter egg dye kit and wrote our names on the egg.  Then she stuck the egg in the Easter Basket, and they blessed it.   

This is us on Easter.  Mommy usually sits in this sofa chair in the corner of the room and we follow her.

 

The company that came over kept saying -- which dog is Lassie and which dog is Benji.  So, Mommy put the bandana's on us so the people would know.  Benji had the yellow one and I, Lassie, had the blue one.

 

I was very comfy resting my head on the bottom of the sofa. Mommy bought new sofa covers to put on the sofas fur Easter.  Don't worry, Benji and I were working overtime trying to stink up the covers just right fur the company that came over on Easter! It was a hard job -- be we accomplished it!

Easter Bunny Peep?

Mommy volunteered...

The EASTER BUNNY needs help stuffing the candy into those plastic eggs for the kids at church for an Egg Hunt this weekend. 

The EASTER BUNNY's Head PEEP (kinda like Santa's Head Elf) contacted Mommy and asked if she could help put candies into the plastic eggs for church. So, Mommy said she would help out and stuff some plastic eggs. 

Benji and I weren't invited to stuff eggs!   I guess that's ok, because we would probably be chasing the EASTER BUNNY non-stop (asking fur more and more treats) and no one would get any work done.

Mommy doesn't even know if she will get to meet the actual EASTER BUNNY!  She thinks she will only get to meet his "Peeps".



Anyway, Mommy was trying to imagine what it would be like fur her to stuff candies into plastic eggs in the EASTER BUNNY's MAGICAL FORREST.    Mommy was imagining it to be like an episode of "I Love Lucy" when Lucy was in the Chocolate Factory.   All of the candies would come down a conveyor belt and all the professional PEEPs would methodically place the chocolates in the plastic egg -- and then there would be Mommy not able to handle the chocolates flying down the conveyor belt at lightning fast speeds, and she would be stuffing chocolates in her pockets and in her mouth...instead of in the plastic eggs.  

I sure hope Mommy doesn't mess this up!  We wouldn't want to get on the EASTER BUNNY's Bad Egg list.


If Mommy remembers anything about the EASTER BUNNY's MAGICAL FORREST or if she remembers meeting the EASTER BUNNY himself, she will let us know.   I think there is a magical spell or something that they cast over all the volunteer people, and no one really remembers anything.

We tried to sneak into the Play

We tried so hard to sneak into Mommy's niece's school play last weekend, butt we were caught!  I don't know how anyone was able to tell it was us -- we tried to sneak in as Winkies.  (The Winkies are the Guards at the Witches Castle in the play -- The Wizard of Oz).

So, all we got was to see the Program Book from the Play!  That's us posing  (very sleepy) with the program book on the bed.  We so wanted to see Toto the dog!  We heard he was really good!  Mommy said Toto looked like a stuffed animal.   (Butt we all know, they couldn't have used a stuffed doggie to play that part!)  Mommy said when you heard Toto bark, his mouth didn't move.  He must have been a ventriloquist doggie - that takes some serious acting skills to bark and not move your mouth! 

 

The Petron messages that all the bloggers sent in to congratulate Mommy's niece took up a full page in the program book, and there were a few that even wrapped around to the other page.  (P.S. That's Toto's picture at the top of the Petron Page.  I know --  the lighting in our house is horrible fur taking pictures!)

And as a super surprise we got a special postcard in the mail from Freya Rose Blossom.  She sent us a thank you postcard from across the pond to thank us fur sending her the Wizard of Oz themed Pet Bandana!  How nice was it to get a thank you card in return for sending a thank you card.    Bloggers are the best!

Thank you again everyone!  We will always have such wonderful memories anytime we think of the Wizard of Oz from now on!
