A Minion Blimp?

Well first off I have to apologize for not having an actual photo to go along with this blog post.

Mommy saw the "Despicablimp".  She didn't realize what it was until it was too late to take a picture.

There is a huge blimp flying across America with the one-eyed Minion on it from the animated movie "Despicable Me". 

Mommy saw it in Philadelphia, PA on Sunday, September 15 around 6:30pm near 2nd and Erie in Philadelphia while driving home from a birthday party.  Mommy was kinda driving thru a neighborhood where you don't stop the car to pull over to snap a picture... so, there is no official picture of Flat Lassie and Benji with the Blimp.

You will have to believe Mommy when she says she actually saw it though.

Mommy tried to demonstrate what she saw to us using her nephew's Minion toy.

Benji was all smiles watching Mommy do the demonstration with the Minion toy.

At first she didn't know what it was.  She couldn't see the entire blimp because buildings were in the way... all she saw at first was something that looked like an eye.  Then she saw yellow.  Then she saw blue.

The road kinda curved, so when she was able to see the blimp again, this time she was looking at the back of the blimp.  Butt she could see the entire blimp this time since no buildings were blocking her view, and she could tell by the butt that it was a Minion from "Despicable Me".

How in the world could Mommy tell it was a "Despicable Me" character from this view of it's butt is beyond me!

Mommy was so excited to see it --  too bad she couldn't get a picture of it.


Mommy looked it up on the internet, and there is actually a website for the  Blimp.  The website shows where the Blimp is on a map.

I (Lassie) am still upset there is no Flat Lassie and Benji Picture with the Blimp.

Results from the Sample Survey ....

Just wanted to thank everyone who helped out and pawticipated in our Sample Survey we posted about the other day.  

Mommy was in full panic mode because she was assigned to figure out how to put together an electronic survey for her work thing ASAP.

Thank you to all of the bloggers out there who were willing to help our Mommy out with the Sample Survey. She really needed to test it out before she has to do a real survey for the work thing! 



Mommy learned so much about a (google docs report) survey by me posting one on MY blog.

1.  She learned she can embed the survey.

2.  She learned she can just use the link for the survey instead of embedding it (could be useful for Facebook or email.).

3.  She learned that she SHOULD give directions at the top of the survey.  For example, say there are four questions and to hit the "submit" button once you are finished.

4.  She learned she CAN'T go back to fix a spelling typo once the Survey is active.   (During the survey, she went back and tried to fix the misspelled "Dust Bunies" typo -- and on a summary report it erased previous entries that were made under the misspelled word.  Don't worry, Mommy looked at the data before she corrected the word, so she knew there were 4 responders who said they have Dust Bunnies as pets!

5.  She learned how to view a Summary Report.  It even provides some graphs.

6.  She also learned how to download the Report into Excel, so you can sort the data however you like.

7.  She learned if someone gives a really long answer in a response...in excel she has to unwrap the cell in order to see the full answer!

8.  She learned that you don't have to answer every question, and it will just appear as a blank space in the report.

9. She learned that in  Excel, you can track how a respondent answered each question.  For example, in the work Survey, they want to ask for (Optional) Contact information.   So, in the report, you can go back and see all the answers that particular person used thru the Survey.

10. That was a lot of learning!



So, lets see how the results of the "Lassiter Sample Survey" went....


1.  Question 1 = We had 12 responses as of this morning.   11 of them have household pets and 1 does not.

2. Question 2 = In first place, we had nine responders who have Dogs!  Second place, had four responders with Dust Bunnies.  Third place was a tie between Cats and Fish with two a piece.  Fourth place was a tie between Minipigs and "Other."  (Thank you Cocco the Minipig for your sweet comment to us on how you loved seeing Minipig as an answer choice on the survey!)   

Oh, and we  have to admit that the responder that said "Other" was Mommy's who answered on behalf of someone.  They said, "Do Ants and Spiders in the house count as pets?"  Mommy said -- "Sure!"

We sure hope you can click on these images to make them bigger!

3.  Question 3 - We just left the answers in the order they came in.  Number 9 was a blank space.  That was the one where Mommy tested to see what would happen if she left that answer blank.  Besides -- what do spiders and ants like to play with?

4. Question 4 - We left the answers in the order they came in. (I am beaming that "Lassie" was such a popular answer!)

Oh, we wanted to point out that Responder number 5 was a long answer where they listed 5 titles in their answer.  This was very good that they did that, because in Excel, Mommy had to figure out and unhide the part of the answer that was originally hidden.  

 

Oh and yes, Cocco the Minipig, your answer of "Babe?" in Question 4 does count.




That's about it.


This survey was so much fun to play around with.

Mommy doesn't think the work survey is gonna be fun like this pet survey -- butt, at least she has a better idea now of what to expect.

Help Mom with a Survey

Oh my dog!

Mommy is in deep doggie doo-doo.

She has to figure out how to do an electronic survey for work that has different kinds of questions in it (ie multiple choice, short answers, long answers...)

Mommy knows you can do simple polls in blogger -- butt we don't think you can do answers where you write in stuff to answer the questions.

Anyway, here is Mommy's attempt at trying one in google docs.

She wanted to test out a survey on MY blog first before putting the real one on the work thingy.  The nerve!  This is MY blog afterall.  So I (Lassie) decided what the questions should be in this sample survey below!

If there are any "guinea pigs" out there who want to try answering questions on our sample survey, we would appreciate it.   Also, if you answered the survey, could you write us a comment -- just so we know if the survey worked.  If we get 3 comments saying you answered the survey, and no answers appear on the google report -- that means Mommy must have messed something up.

Pretty as a Picture

Our Lassie and Benji Portrait arrived in the mail. 

We had to wait Patiently for Mommy to come home from work to open the Package.

Grandma Put the Package that the Postal worker (mailman) dropped off at our Pad (house), behind the Plushy sofa in the living room because we were Panting and sniffing the Package like crazy when it arrived!  Good thing Grandma Planned to Put it there, so it could be in a safe Place until Mommy came home.

We smelled Reilly and Denny all over the Package -- so we knew right then and there that our Portrait Painting from the Cowspotdogs  must be in the Package. 

We were so excited, we thought we had to go outside to the Potty and Pee. 

The suspense was driving us Positively crazy all day, because we had to wait for Mommy to come home from work to help us Pry the Package open.

Then when she finally came home from work -- we asked her --what in Pete's sake took her so long to come!  

She said she had to go to store to Pick up Grandma's Prescription that was ready.

We Pursued to Bark at Mommy saying -- of all the days to Putz around after work on your way home! 

Anyway, finally it was the moment to see the Portrait and we felt like we were on Pins and needles.  Hurry Mommy Hurry!

Mommy finally got the Package open!

In this Photograph of us sitting in front of the Portrait, I (Lassie) usually have my ear standing up 87 Percent of the time, butt I had my ear Plopped down when this Photograph was snapped! Butt I really love how happy we both (I mean all four of us) look in this Photograph!

The Painting looks just like us!   Every little detail about us in the Painting is Perfect!

Mommy Proudly hung the Painted Portrait on the wall and has been Peaking at it every moment she Possibly can!

We love it!

Hug and Kiss Day

Benny says September 6th is Hug and Kiss Day to show all the love in Blogville. 

Now the instructions said you have to have your human hugging and kissing you and post it that day.  The only problem with that is... Mommy doesn't follow instructions all the time!

Mommy's sister's family went to Hershey Park last weekend.  Mommy's nephew got a Hershey Kiss Stuffie as a souvenir from Hershey Park -- and we asked to take a picture kissing the Hershey Kiss Stuffie for Benny's Hug and Kiss Day.

Thank you - calendar, portrait

We are very thankful for a number of things.

We wanted to thank all the family, friends, and bloggers who voted for us in the calendar contest. We didn't win one of the featured top 12 spots to be a calendar month, butt that's ok.  We got a surprising number of votes; more votes than we could ever imagine -- we are very thankful for the votes we got. We felt very loved knowing so many people/doggies would go out of their way to vote for us in a contest.  We can't thank you enough!

Do you know blogging has taught us a lot about life's lessons. Eventhough we were in a contest to win, we are so happy with the results of the contest seeing that our blog friends the Cowspotdogs and Benny and Lily made it to be March and December calendar months.   Earlier in the week, we wanted nothing more than to be in the top 12, butt later in the week on Friday, our thinking changed.   We saw Benny and Lily slip from 11th to 12th place, and we didn't want them to "lose" the contest.  They are our blog friends.  So, our vote on Friday night went to Benny and Lily.  We voted the way we did because blog friends are more important to us than trying to win a contest -- and we are extremely happy that we voted from the heart for Benny and Lily that day instead of greedily voting for ourselves to try to catch up to them from 14th place.

We still get to have our picture to be in the calendar somewhere -- so that's really pawsome!  All the pawticipating photos from the contest are going to be in the back pages of the calendar!

We are also thankful for the Cowspotdogs mom for painting such a wonderful picture of us!  We asked if it was possible for her to paint the both of us on one painting -- and she did an AMAZING job!  She sent us the picture of the painting -- and she totally captured our look!  Mommy absolutely loves how I (Lassie) am looking right at her when you look at the painting.  She keeps staring at the picture and smiling so big from ear to ear!  We love it!  Thanks again.  To find information about the Cowspotdog mom's paintings please go to her website at www.cowspotdogs.com .
