Park Day 2.0 BINGO

We decided to join in the fun and play Park Day 2.0 Bingo.

We printed out Finn's TEN Bingo Cards on different color pieces of paper.

 

 All month long, we were trying to find the stuff on the Bingo Cards (in no particular order).

Finally we put together a Master List of all the things we found all month long and it was time to play BINGO.

 I (Lassie) was the official BINGO Caller in the house (since I'm the Head of House), Mommy checked over the 10 Bingo Cards, and Benji was the Bingo Verifier to make sure we actually got a BINGO.

We got a BINGO on Card Number 7.    Ah, Lucky 7 !  

Bingo = Find a Dog Playing Frisbee, Find a Butterfly, Park Bench, Visit an Urban Park, Find a Geocache.

 

Our Bingo Adventure took us all over the place!   

1.   Flat Lassie and Benji  visited "Smithville" in NJ an outdoor shopping place with park-like surroundings.

We saw a wooden  Butterfly and lots of other wooden things for sale.

 

 

We saw a statue of Uncle Sam in an arcade (that counts as a monument or sculpture).

We saw Flowers on a Wind Chime at a store.  

Mommy liked the Wind Chime so much -- she purchased it -- and it is now hanging in our backyard for all of us to enjoy from Smithville. (That's Benji in the picture on the right.)

We even saw a Park Bench at Smithville that had wooden cut outs of dogs as the sides of the bench.

And even though it wasn't on the list, we saw a train.

 

2. Next our Bingo Adventure took us to the community lake.  (Its our nearest body of water if you don't count the bath tub.) 

There was even a squirrel we spotted by the lake!  We were barking our heads off as we drove by!

3.  Flat Lassie and Benji visited an Urban Park in Philadelphia and saw a dog playing frisbee.

 

 

 (Well, the dog kinda didn't catch the frisbee, the sun must have been in his eyes. The human threw the frisbee and it went right past the dog.) 
 

4.  And finally, flat Lassie and Benji got to use the computer, and we looked up what "Geocaching" is and found a park to go to.

This was our first ever geocaching adventure.  We went to "Liberty Lands Park" in the Northern Liberties section of Philadelphia (this park is more than 30 minutes from our house) and brought a pencil along with us because that's what it said for us to do. We were supposed to find a minature Lemonhead Lunchbox with something inside for us to sign.

 

When we got to the park we saw there was a mural painted on a wall and it was pawsome. It had 3-D Birdhouses and insects on the wall of the building.  (That building is actually the back wall of a bakery.)  It's funny because the park entrance is located on a one-way street. Mommy drove down that street before when she went to the bakery to buy rye-bread, butt never noticed the mural on the building because she would have to look in the rear view mirror to see the mural.  (Mommy was like -- I can't believe I never knew this mural was there.)

 

We went to the Park twice to try to find the Geocache!  We had to go twice, because when we went the first time, we looked in the garden for the lunchbox and didn't see anything. So, Mommy looked again on the computer and Mommy forgot to read the secret message on the Geocaching site that said to look at the foot of the mural under a log.  Ooops!

 

So we went again the next morning and we looked specifically for a log.

We found the "log" butt Mommy said the "log" looked more like an entire "trunk" of a tree.

 

Mommy couldn't figure out how to get under the log to find the miniature Lemonhead lunchbox because plants were growing under the log.  The log was slightly elevated off the ground with bricks.

Mommy said she wasn't gonna try to move the log -- because it looked too heavy.

So, we just took a picture with us with the log, and hope that counts as finding the Geocache!  I'm sure it counts!

Circus & Cousin Dog

1. Here are the pictures from last week (maybe it was 3 weeks at this point) of a real live circus that came to our town! 

There were two real camels who performed under the big top.  One camel had a taller bump thingy on it's back than the other one.  And since Benji is taller than me (Lassie), Mommy referred to the taller camel as "Benji Camel" and the other one as the "Lassie Camel."

It was interesting seeing Camels in a circus.  The Circus Announcer made 3 announcements right before, during, and as soon as the camel act began. The Circus Announcer said for parents to make sure to keep and eye on their children during this act and to make sure the children stay in their seats. 

Mommy was a little scared by them making 3 announcements like that for the camels. 

Mommy was sitting in the front row at the circus -- so she kept a close eye on her nephew who was sitting beside her.  So, she wasn't fully able to watch the entire Camel act. 

From what she saw, the handler said "Waltz" as the command, and the Camels spun around in a circle.  Kind of like how dogs spin when humans say "Spin."  Mommy thought that was neat because the 2 camels looked like they were dancing.

 

There were miniature ponies at the circus too.  They gave pony rides.

 

We weren't able to take pictures of the acts during the show, butt they had humans and dogs performing too.

 

The dogs did tricks like "Weave" between human's legs.  They also walked standing up on their back paws.  Oh, and there were these brave two dogs who walked on a spinning circle.  It was pawsome.  The dogs looked very happy the entire time.  They all had big smiles and all were full of energy.

 

The dogs even got to play on a sliding board -- it was like a comedian act.  The dogs were pawsitively our favorite part of the circus.

2.  Our Cousin Dog got to sleep over our house for  a few nights last week (or was it 2 weeks ago).  It's all kinda a blur.

We did all the formal butt and other private parts sniffing ceremony.  Butt we kinda had to keep refreshing the butt and private part sniffing ceremonies throughout his entire visit with us.  Things were a little tense in the beginning and we all had to wear our leashes and stay in separate corners.

 By the end of his visit -- we were getting along ok.  I think we would have needed another few days together to really be best friends.  Butt, we came a long way. 

 

Mommy dressed our Cousin Dog in Bunny Rabbit ears.  (I think he enjoyed it.) I know Mommy had fun.

If you couldn't tell before, our Cousin dog is like a giant compared to us.

PS. Our Park Day Bingo isn't going very well.  We aren't giving up yet though!  I think we filled in the "Free Space" and a couple of other spaces. 

Cell Phone Photo Adventures - The Lost Archive

Mommy has been slacking when it comes to helping us with our blog.

So, this morning Mommy starting looking thru her cell phone photos and found a bunch of our older adventures that she never helped us share with you guys.

In no particular order....

1.  Bark Less  =  Grandma says I (Lassie) bark too much.  So, in attempt to please Grandma, Mommy bought us some new treats called "Wag More, Bark Less".  Mommy fed me the cookies that said "Bark Less" but it didn't seem to help me with my barking addiction.

These treats were pawsome!

2. Bowling in a real Bowling Alley.  = Flat Lassie and Benji went to a real bowling alley for a birthday party.  We ate pizza and everything.  Mommy had them type in "L.B." for us since she wasn't sure if "Lassiter Chase and Benjamin" would fit on one line on the score board.

 

Here is a picture of our first "Strike" in was in the 3rd frame or whatever it's called.  The "Strike" is a big letter "X" on the scoreboard.  A "Strike" is when you knock down all the pins.

Our final score for our Bowling was 107.  We got 3 "Strikes" in our entire game.   Versus the people who played on our lane, we came in second place.  We thought that was pawsome considering we don't have thumbs.   (We used the bowling ramp for a first couple of our throws, it was an interesting adventure alright!)

3.  Flat Lassie and Benji in a Tropical Forest and Underwater Adventure

 

 

Those birds were kinda quiet for birds.  Not a peep out of them.

 

Gee Mommy, nice job cutting Flat Lassie and Benji out of this "Something Fishy" photo!

 

I think all these fish had huge teeth.  Do you see us in that Monster green fish's mouth.  Is that a piranha!

4.  Vegetable Display

Mommy had to bring vegetables to a pawty.  The only reason we are posting these pictures of the vegetable tray is to protest!!!   Mommy made an aluminum foil elephant in like 3 minutes for the vegetable display.    Why on earth didn't Mommy have us contact aluminum foil SUPER SHELTIE for the display. I think Super Sheltie would have looked better in the display than the elephant!  (in case you can't tell, the elephant is facing to the left holding his trunk in the air.)

 

Oh, I almost forgot to say.  Mommy made those carrot heart shapes because she remembered Big Honey Dog did a blog post once about a meal at a fancy restaurant.  And Mommy remembered Honey's meal head heart shaped carrot slices on it.  Mommy thought that was so fancy, so she attempted to make them, and she put the hearts on a stick and it turned out ok. 

 

The spiral carrots were made from a carrot spiral tool. 

 

The Celery Fans are just made by slicing a piece of celery and sticking it in ice water overnight in the refrigerator.

The cucumbers have little ridges on them.  Mommy just took a fork and pressed real hard along the skin of the cumber to make lines.  Then she sliced them.

Mommy has a crinkle cutter tool, so she sliced the carrots with that.  Butt apparently you can buy crinkle cut carrots in the supermarket.

If Mommy makes another vegetable display (with Super Sheltie instead of another aluminum foil animal)-- she will try to use broccoli for the tree tops instead of the celery leaves.  The celery leaves kinda wilted after a while.  Butt I guess that's how you learn.

I still have a couple more adventures to tell you about from last week including a real live circus and our cousin dog's sleepover pawty.  I hope to post about that real soon.
