| This weeks True Color Thursday is Rainbow Colored Day. Mommy bought these colorful Tomato Cages. She's wanted these Colored Tomato Cages MY ENTIRE LIFE! (Doesn't is sound like a really long time when I word it that way.) Anyway, she's wanted them a little over 2 years, she sees them in the
home improvement store, looks at the price tag and usually walks away
and just uses the rusted old cages we have that are falling apart. This
time was different. Mommy was mad at stuff ( stuff at work, water
problems at home, and some really bad sunburn that is blistering on the back of her neck) -- and decided to go shopping to
blow off some steam! -- and threw not 1 tomato cage in the basket --
butt 8 of them - and 2 squiggly red poles too - just for the fun of it.
(Yikes -- there goes our budget!)

| Mommy planted the tomato garden on Mother's Day for Grandma. This picture was taken on May 16th (week 1). Mommy got so disgusted with the weeds/trees that grow in between our fence and the neighbor's fence. She tries to cut them, but she can't reach them. She ends up bruising the back of her upper arms trying to get a shovel or clippers down between the 2 fences. And this time she scraped up her knuckle on her finger bad against the fence. Mommy said -- that's it, I'm going to buy a fence weave to try to hide these weeds! So, instead of just buying Fence Weave, she got the tomato cages, the weave, and lucked out and got a rhododendron plant that was marked 50 cents. (The humans at the store marked the plant wrong -- butt Mommy argued with them -- until they honored the price on the sticker.. It was supposed to be $7.50.) |

| This picture was taken almost a week later on May 22 (week 2). She put in the colorful cages here and there, and mixed our old rusted tomato cages in between too. Of course we wouldn't cooperate for this picture, so Mommy was like -- if you want everyone in the blog world to see a picture of your butts - then fine! And snap -- she took a picture of our butts. |

We wised up for the 2nd picture and stood straight facing the camera! No messing with Mommy this time! (You can see she only got half way with weaving the fence, she hopes to keep working on it this weekend. She might weave it like a checkerboard pattern by weaving it the opposite way too if you can still see too many weeds. Not sure yet.) Thanks for reading this blog post and listening to Mommy's complaints!
Have a great day! Lassie & Benji

P.S.
Mommy says.... I never have luck with my tomato garden. So, we will see if the garden even makes it to week 3. LOL !!!
Mommy's sense of humor is back -- Hooray, she's her good old crazy self again!
I love those tomato thingies we only have boring old silver ones...those are so much better. Gosh how could a tomato plant not be happy growing on those?
ReplyDeleteGood luck with your tomatoes! :) I'm just trying to keep my viola in flowerpot alive in my balcony :D

ReplyDeleteI've never seen coloured tomato cages before, they look quite cheerful.
ReplyDeleteThe colored cages are neat - they are new to us as well. We also have that problem with the neighbor's weeds in our fence. It is a pain! Hope the tomatoes do well!
