The color for True Color Thursday was
Black. The twist for the photo was that it had to be something dark and unusual. This challenge had Mommy immediately think of
The RAVEN statue at the Edgar Allan Poe National Historic Site in Philadelphia. All you poetry fans probably heard of Edgar Allan Poe. One of his famous poems is "The Raven."
So, on Mommy's lunch break she walked over to the Edgar Allan Poe House to snap a couple of pictures. She thought walking there would be better than driving there -- both have it's pro's and con's. It's not the safest neighborhood so, Mommy only took her cell phone to take the picture instead of a regular camera and walked there. Talk about a
Power-Walking kind of experience for Mommy!!!

| Here we are with the side view of The Raven statue. Looks like the Raven statue is laughing, just like how we are laughing in our picture. |

| This was the closest picture Mommy could take of The Raven statue. Mommy saw something move in The Raven's mouth. Mommy didn't know what to expect. She thought there was a speaker in there -- she knows The Raven spoke in the poem. She thought -- maybe they rigged up the statue to talk and say "Nevermore" like it did in the Poem. She stared at it, and stared at it!!!!! Finally she saw what the thing in The Raven's mouth was as it moved closer and closer to the front of the beak!!! |

| (Boy did Mommy wish she had her better camera for the picture! She zoomed in on the picture above.) There was a bird in The Raven's mouth! It had it's mouth open just like the beak of The Raven Statue. It was one of those black birds. Not a crow. Not sure what the name of those black birds are -- but Mommy was scared speechless seeing this black bird in The Raven's mouth and how it's mouth was open just like the statue. The bird ended up flying away to the roof of the building next door. (Talk about an unusual experience. A bird flying out of a bird's mouth. It really freaked Mommy out big time. Creepy!) |

| Here is a picture of Edgar Allan Poe painted on the building next door to the Site. Mommy didn't get the bottom part of painting in the picture because there was a police car parked right there on the street. She didn't know if it was a good or bad thing that a cop car was parked there. So, she snapped a quick picture - and off she went power-walking back to work. |
All in all, being that it's not the safest neighborhood, do you think Mommy will walk there EVER AGAIN on her lunch break?
