Hurricane Irene made me go "Wii" and pee!

Thank goodness Hurricane Irene is over. Mommy was so busy worrying during the Hurricane and then she was busy cleaning up branches and leaves after the Hurricane -- we couldn't really post much. Thankfully no big trees came down!

We lost power a few hours on Sunday during the Hurricane and we went over Mommy's Sister and Brother-in-law's house -- that's where Mommy's niece and nephew live. They only live a couple of blocks from us -- but they had power and we didn't -- go figure?

Anyway -- we have a lake at the end of the block. The lake overflowed onto the grass area and streets. Thank goodness our house and Mommy's sister's house weren't affected by the lake overflowing.



Things I liked about Mommy's niece and nephew's house...

1) They have lots of toys! I got to meet Bowser the Stuffed Animal dog. He has his own doggy bed and his own doggy toys. I was jealous. At one point I tried to sit in Bowser's bed -- but it was way too small for me.


2) They have fans on their ceiling that go round and round -- it was most interesting to look at.


3) Wii -- It was so much fun! I seem to be a natural at video games! Mommy's niece even created a character for me in the "Wii" too bad they didn't have any dog characters for me to choose from for my profile. I picked the human boy wearing a baseball cap since there were no dogs in the menu.

4) Their yard has a fence all the way around the house front and back. My house only has a fence in the yard in the back. I liked to go in a circle all the way around their house! Especially when I decided to water their bushes and plants all over the yard. (They don't have any pets -- so I had to make sure I marked all of their bushes in the yard for them! It's hard work - but I know they will thank me later for marking their territory!)

5) Mommy's niece has a nice "BED spread" on her bed in her room, but I thought she said come see my "BREAD spread". So, when I went into her room I was expecting to taste some yummy bread with some margarine spread on top -- but all I saw was the flower quilt on the bed. I guess I was just so excited to see her room and my tummy just did the thinking for me!

Here is a REALLY short video from my day. I can't believe Mommy didn't put new batteries in the camera. She remembered to put batteries in the flash light and radio -- and forgot to check on the batteries in the camera. Nice going Mommy!

I'm okay

Just a quick post 2 say I'm ok. It's still raining in South Jersey and they say the winds should pick up at the end of the Hurricane. I took advantage of the lighter rains about an hour ago and went potty outside, of course Mommy stood by my side. The tornado warnings last night were scary, Mommy put my harness on me and we waited in the hallway by the bathroom with all the doors closed to all the rooms because we don't have a real basement, just a crawl space -- but it would be too hard to get us down there. Thankfully the tornado warnings passed us by. So far, just some small branches down and lots of leaves. I'm surprised we still have power. Take care everyone - stay safe.

What was that noise? Gunshots?

Mommy is tired. She can't seem to sit still because of Hurricane Irene who is supposed to come tonight. How come Mommy is always trying to train me to sit -- but she doesn't understand me when I tell her to just sit. Finally I told Mommy why don't you help me with a blog post to get your mind off the Hurricane.

So, I was eating some cheerios in the kitchen when all of the sudden I heard these gunshot noises coming from the big white box that they keep the cold food in - in the kitchen . Mommy says its called a refrigerator -- I said "whatever!"

See, Mommy decided to save some of the ice cubes in a plastic bag to put in the cooler. The electric company already called our house yesterday saying to prepare for the power to go out and it will probably take them several days to get the power restored. (We live in South Jersey, but not too close to the shore.)

So, the refrigerator makes it's own ice. So, this morning Mommy emptied the ice from the ice cube compartment into plastic bags to save, so, the refrigerator has a chance to make more ice before the storm hits.

So, I was eating my cheerios in the kitchen when all of the sudden the gunshot noises happened in the refrigerator. I jumped up and started running into the living room. I was so scared. (I guess I'm still a little on edge since the refrigerator moved during the earthquake the other day.)

Mommy said it wasn't gunshot noises -- it was just the refrigerator making more ice cubes.
